Artist Statement
Ren Ting is a visual artist whose paintings resonate with the quiet spirit and poetic elegance of Eastern aesthetics. Her works exude calmness, restraint, and subtle emotional tension, creating meditative spaces where viewers can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with their inner world.
Ren simplifies forms and uses blank space to cultivate a serene atmosphere on the canvas. With delicate arrangements of shapes and tones, she constructs visual fields that are still yet flowing—mirroring a state of mind more than a physical place. Much of her inspiration stems from lived experience: her love of nature and the sea, her immersion in fleeting moments, and her attentive observation of the world while living and traveling.
Ren Ting's art seeks to stretch the viewer's sense of time in an age of immediacy, offering a different rhythm—one grounded in stillness, intimacy, and presence. She believes painting is not only a form of expression, but also of connection: a quiet invitation to rebuild our relationship with the world.
For her, landscapes are not simply representations of places, but fragments of emotion, memory, and existence. Through painting, she gently traces the path of her inner journey—and helps us glimpse our own.
